This online guide is designed to help protect the fragile ecosystems that make up Exuma Park and to help cruisers enjoy a safe and enjoyable visit during their exploration of the land and sea within Exuma Park. The site provides you with a number of sketch charts and other information you can download and print. Remember you should not rely on a sketch chart for navigation - Exuma Park contains many shallow coral reefs and shifting sand bars and you should always maintain a sharp lookout. Explorer Chartbooks and Maptech Chart Kits are available for sale at the Park Office.
Established in 1958, Exuma Park is one of 25 National Parks and Protected Areas managed by the Bahamas National Trust. Unique in the world, the Trust is believed to be the only non-profit, non-governmental agency mandated with management of a nationwide system of parks and protected areas. In 1986, The Bahamas National Trust established Exuma Park as a complete NO TAKE ZONE and marine protected area, the first in the wider Caribbean.
