Exuma Park is central to a wide variety of neighboring cays, island communities, marinas and visitor attractions.

To the North of Exuma Park

  • Allan's Cay, Leaf Cay & SW Allan's Cay

These cays are home to a large population of the rare Bahama Rock Iguana. ALL Iguanas are protected by law throughout the Bahamas.

The area between the cays is a popular anchorage. Cruisers should expect daily visits by fast powerboats bringing tourists from Nassau to visit these cays.


Highborne is a private island and visits ashore are resiticted to guets of the marina. This well protected marina is the first southbound marina in the Exumas after departing Nassau. This friendly  marina has fuel, water and a well stocked store.


Vessels frequently anchor off the western beach near the small beach houses belonging to the Norman Cay Beach Club. Located just behind the beach houses, the former McDuff's restaraunt now operates as the Normans Cay Beach Club and is a favorite island resturant.

Norman's Cay does not have a marina but does have an airstrip frequently used by private aircraft.


To the South of Exuma Park

The marina at Compass Cay, located in one of the rare totally protected harbors in the Exumas, is accessible from both the Exuma Banks and the Exuma Sound through channels marked with buoys and range markers.
A marina store has ice, beer, soda, bottled water, limited sundry and food items, clothing, and a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. No fuel is available. Hamburgers and Hot dogs are served for lunch during season and on request.

Completely rebuilt in 2002, Sampson Cay’s marina comes with all new pilings, docks, pipes, and state of the art power pillars providing even, reliable current. The cut to the marina has been widened and dredged with 7 feet of water at low tide, 8 feet in the marina, and 9 feet of water at the fuel docks in the front.

The store is well stocked with provisions including produce. Each night the restaurant offers a fun and casual atmosphere. Sampson also offers several guest houses for visitors to this private cay.


 Staniel Cay

Staniel Cay is home to a local Bahamian community, several local stores (Blue Store, Pink Store & IslesGeneral Store) and resturants (Staniel Cay Yacht Club, Club Thunderball).

A popular snorkel site is Thunderball Cave the site of several movies.

The SC Yacht Club offers 9 charming cottages, an 18-slip marina, and a clubhouse with a wonderful restaurant and casual island bar.
Arrangement can be made at the Yacht Club for Watermakers Air for travel from Ft. Lauderdale directly in to Staniel Cay.

Watermaker's Air, affiliated with the Staniel Cay Yacht Club, provides regular passenger and small freight service utilizing the 3000 foot airstrip located on Staniel Cay.
