WELCOME ABOARD!
"STINKY"
Stinky, one of four Pilot Whales found stranded at Normans Cay in 2010 is the newest edition to the Visitor Center.

"Thank You" to Mike & Angie Williams, Bruce Ray, John Labat and Darcy Lesh for making this new display possible.
SHARK CAMPAIGN
The Bahamas National Trust is honored to work with the Pew Environment Group to further Shark Conservation in The Bahamas. Global demand for shark fins, meat, liver, oil and other products have driven numerous shark populations to the brink of extinction.
In The Bahamas, our shark populations are diverse and healthy and we have an opportunity to be proactive in protecting a species that is key to maintaining balance in marine ecosystems.
NEW ACT STRENGTHENS BNT
New legislation effective in 2011 gives the BNT explicit legislative authority to advise both public and private sectors of The Bahamas on sustainable development issues and policies. The new Act empowers the BNT to prohibit or regulate activities on land or on the sea bed in protected areas.
The new Act gives BNT Wardens and volunteer Wardens the power and protection of Constables, with authority to remove or exclude persons who breach park regulations. Penalties for breaching park regulations now include fines of up to $100,000 or six months imprisonment, plus confiscation of goods and vessels.
Exuma Park is is very pleased to welcome Henry Haley as the new Park Warden.
Henry has joined the Exuma Park team in 2009 after a distinguished career in law enforcement. Henry's valuable skills and dedication to the preservation of this protected area are a welcome addition.
Exuma Park is very pleased to welcome Andrew Kriz as the new Park Administrator. Andrew has been active at Exuma Park for many years and his work was essential to the expansion of the moorings at Shroud, Hawksbill and Cambridge.

NEW PATROL BOAT

With the help from several generous contributors, the Park has put into service a new patrol and search and rescue vessel. The boat, a twin engine Contender is considerably larger than the rest of the Park Fleet and has greatly increased the Staff's ability to safely patrol and respond to emergencies in inclement weather and well offshore. Many thanks to the donors that made this great addition to the park fleet happen!
TIKI HUT AT WARDERWICK WELLS
The whale beach near Park headquarters has gotten even better with the addition of a Tiki Hut constructed by a variety of volunteers. Using donated materials and left over building materials from other projects, the dedicated volunteers created a unique new space that quickly has become both the center of Saturday night happy hours, and a place to escape the sun on those hot sumnmer days. Thanks to eveyone that made this project a reality!
